I want to start by saying GYM FRIENDS ARE THE BEST! Now, you’re going to think that I have these friends and they are in my ward and that we all decided to go to the same gym and it was easy. NO! I moved to a new town in Texas and after having my son and I started going back to the gym because it is important to me. I didn’t know anyone! I have found that I enjoy the social atmosphere of classes and much like personal training, if I pick the right class, I’m pushed pretty hard. I have met several nice women in the classes I attend. Claire pictured below is an outstanding person and one of my favorite gym friends! We encourage and motivate one another and have fun sweating too! We even get a little crazy on Halloween together.
A very nice surprise is the group of Mormon girls that I’d been exercising with for months and didn’t know it. Keep in mind, ALL of the women in my classes are nice but I’ve discovered there are 6 of us that attend a group of 2 or 3 classes a week together. Pictured below with me are Jaley(middle ) and Heather(right).
I live in a town where there aren’t tons of Mormons and yet SIX are in my classes. Six people with similar values as me. They have goals to keep there bodies fit and clean. They understand the importance of balance. The point I’m trying to get at here is I know it’s hard to go to the gym alone. Go anyways! There is someone just like you that needs support in his or her goals. I’m so grateful for ALL of my gym friends! If the gym is where you feel you need to be, lift up your head and be open to finding a gym friend.
