Kim- Volunteer & #FitMormon

Kim Volunteer

Kim was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis in January

From Kim:  I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have been so my whole life. I am also in love with working out! I am a Zumba instructor and also teach yoga at our ward. I know it’s a very important eternal principle to take care of the bodies we have now, so we know how to do so for the eternities. I also have an auto-immune disease that helps me watch my diet a little better than the average America. I have studied the Word if Wisdom a lot and know it’s the only healthy way to truly live our lives! Being an active, fit Mormon lessens my daily struggles with my disease and keeps me inspired and motivated to keep God’s other commandments. Through my experiences, I have learned how to reach out and help others with my God-given talents and desires to care for my body. I volunteer to teach Zumba twice a week at our elementary school. I also teach a volunteer yoga class at the church. I live in a small town where there aren’t other opportunities for the people in town to get out and get fit. Because of the Word of Wisdom and my abilities, I am able to offer that chance to these wonderful people. It’s been a blessing in so many ways and has been one of the most uplifting experiences I’ve ever had.
